Less is more. Fall’s
black!! The fashion flock’s native habitat may be city streets, but this season, our designers have gone mad for plaid and discovered a need for tweed. We have layered a tactile mix of tweed, velvet, shearling, and fur. If couture fall was any indication, masculine tailoring and silhouettes are here to stay. A futuristic dress, a caped jacket or funnel-collard furs command confidence and demand a good pair of heels. Twinkle, but furry collars, cuffs and especially shawls and stoles were important. Mink and mink-look rabbits are the most common fur types. You would need your fur trimmed sweaters as well as fur hoodys and fur capes to be worn over your cocktail dresses as well as your jeans for the night out. Ruffles, florals, plumes, and plaids were all the rage in the Big Apple this season. Lovely sweaters in all bright colors ruled the runways in Europe, along with statement coats, form-fitting suits, and novelty garments. The designers showing in Paris were collectively confident. Sleek, jet black cocktail dresses were a standout, as was the enviable jewelry. Dresses are going to remain important thru this season, Wear them in black and also prints. Wear them to work as well as after work to play. |
