27 years in the making:
Barami's still growing strong

The vision is simple: provide women with fashionable, affordable, quality clothing that can be worn to work as well as for social occasions. “Today's woman is very conscious of what she spends her money on,” says fashion designer/retailer, Barami. “I want to provide
her with a solution to her fashion and financial needs.”

And that he does. Right from conception, he keeps the customer's concerns in mind. Virtually everything is handled out of the New York City headquarters. From designing to manufacturing to retailing, Barami does it all. “We are able to pass along great savings to our clientele because there isn't a middle man mark up,” assures Barami. By overseeing it all, Barami is also able to keep close tabs on quality control. “It's not just about today's sale, it's about building a long term relationship. We want our customers to know that
when they buy Barami clothing, they're buying quality clothing.”

Barami started his dream, in 1979, by selling brand name clothes in his first Barami Studio at Lexington and 40th Street in New York City. He quickly realized that to stay ahead of competition he needed something unique. Barami confirms, “I noticed that to remain in business, we had to develop an idea and a look that offered both value and quality different from the rest of the market.” The result was manufacturing his own designs on classic styles.

Barami felt it was essential to make his outfits versatile. Because women are a major part of the work force, he understood that their time is limited. Barami's solution was to create outfits that could be worn to work, then with the simplicity of adding accessories, like a scarf, be worn to dinner.

Barami has its Couture line as well. This line features similar American and European styles, using more expensive quality fabrics and high fashion details.
